Raised Floor Air Distribution Unit: InViroPak™ RAD
The
InViroPak™ RAD system is a fan-powered Air Distribution
Unit designed to cool computer/servers in racks or cabinets in large
Data Centers, Computer Rooms, and/or Web Hosting Facilities. This
extends the life of the electronic equipment and saves on
the associated replacement costs/service disruptions ($$).
This is accomplished without requiring additional floorspace, since
the unit is built with an integral reinforced floor tile that sits
in the aisles between the racks/cabinets in a raised floor system.
The InViroPak™ RAD units pull air from the cool
air plenum under the raised floor via a Variable Air Volume (VAV)
booster blower, and pushes it up through the floor tile to actively
cool equipment sitting above the raised floor system in
lieu of using passive perforated floor tiles. The air is distributed
with either low profile floor registers, flexible anti-static air
distribution ducting (shown), or from the side of the unit (for
underfloor distribution).
The InViroPak™ RAD system can be coupled with
existing Computer Room Air Conditioners/Air Handlers (CRACs/CRAHs)
or In-Space Units (ISUs) to efficiently cool electronic equipment
side. However, a side benefit of incorporating our system is that
setpoints can be increased since the electronic equipment is being
cooled more efficiently. This allows for size reductions on the
CRACs/CRAHs/ISUs which equates to savings in energy ($$)
and usable floorspace ($$). See the following White Paper
